Where has the time gone?

Its been two years since our referral. Life with Mia has exceeded all of our expectations. She is funny, lovely, lovely, silly, smart....everything we ever wanted and more. The boys love her She calls them Mia's boys. We are truly blessed.

Mia knows her colours, shapes, can recognize numbers to 10, count to 20 (okay she usually misses 15). Hard to believe she is the same girl we saw two years ago when she was 7 1/2 months old.

At the end of this season we got her up on skis.

Two months in the blink of an eye!

Where has the time gone? It's been more than two months since I last posted: we celebrated our first anniversary of meeting Mia in May, and she will be TWO in a month.

The boys finished Grade 1 and are enjoying their summer - they start swim lessons this afternoon at our neighbour's house with their daughter Ali, who they adore.

Attached are a few pictures - the first is honestly NOT a posed pictures...it was how Mia chose to head out for ice cream last week! The second the third show how hard it is to get a good picture of the kids together (yes that is Harry holding Mia upside down, much to her delight!) and the final picture is one of our rare shots of our three beautiful kids sitting still!

Another great visit to Saltspring. Mia and Katelin (aka Mimi and Kiki as they affectionately call each other) really do share a special bond. This trip, they walked around holding hands! Too cute for words!

Fun in Hawaii

We had a great time on vacation in Hawaii. All 3 kids loved the beach, and it was so great to see our California cousins!

Mia does sports....

So my friend Pam and I were at the hockey game on Wednesday night and decided that Mia needed a vintage Canucks jersey! Doesn't she look cute in it??

Then, the next day, Mia got her first bike helmet (pink of course!) She was thrilled and insisted on putting in right on, despite the pouring rain outside! Doesn't she look cute in her helmet and her new sandals for Hawaii?!

Mia in the Morning

Mia has been getting up pretty early in the morning, before her big brothers wake up. Here she is, first, enjoying a hot cross bun, and second, showing off an early morning ponytail. Mia declared it, "Pretty!"

Cool Dude!

Mia loves to ham it up! Here is a pic of her this morning, sporting a pair of one of her brother's sungalsses! Also here is a pic of our three beautiful kids at Whistler last weekend. We are truly blessed!

Visit to Saltspring

Mia and Mommy had a great time at Saltspring last week for Auntie C's birthday. It was so special to get Mia and Katelin together again. It was HARD to get a good pic of them together, though!!

Our First Christmas as a family of 5

We had a magical Christmas this year, with our three beautiful children! Last year we would not have believed how Mia would complete our family.

We had a white Christmas, with visits from friends and family. First, the Richardson, with Maddy, Henry and Kate, and then John's brother Mike and his wife Karen. The skiing was fantastic too!

Well, Mia finally met Santa! We had a magical (read: busy) night at the club with our kids, Richard, Cornelia and Katelin, as well as Rebecca Slosky, Dave and their beautiful son Emmett (Katelin's nephew!!) Mia and Katelin were terrified of the jolly old elf!
